Seattle Family & Maternity Session

It was orientation week at Seattle Pacific University and I was excited, exhausted and slightly overwhelmed. Cue answering “where are you from?”, “what are you studying?” “which dorm are you in?,” etc. at least 100 times. That week, I met Vanessa. She was genuine and bubbly, and we clicked right away. She was going to school for nursing and lived in the dorm up the street from me. We’d go to the dining hall together and were shopping buddies that frequently bused to the Northgate Mall. Eventually, she told me about a guy named Graham that she really liked. Fast forward to today, Vanessa and her husband Graham have an adorable and growing family.

It’s been years since I had seen Vanessa and I was so excited when she reached out for family portraits! It’s always fun to catch up with old friends and it’s even better when it involves a portrait session. We started the session at Volunteer Park in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood and wrapped up downtown at the Olympic Sculpture Park.

I loved photographing your sweet family, Vanessa! Congratulations to you and Graham on your new baby!

Hugs,
Monica
